the light inside

Roseline de Thélin has been working with lights for the past fifteen years or so. Her light sculptures and light installations play with all the qualities of light as its core inspiration. Elements like the reflection, refraction, fragmentation, conduction and transparency is what she plays with and discovers their attributes in several new ways.

She designs light art pieces and light installations for both private homes as well as public spaces. One of her main medium is Fibre optic which offers endless possibilities. Astronomy, scientific theories, quantum physics, and the expansion of consciousness are ideas that gave birth to her "Homos Luminosos" (Latin for luminous beings) series of light installation. In this series she has created holographic ethereal beings and organic forms such as spirals, waves, vortex out of light point edged on hundreds of optic fibres. The empty spaces between the light points encourages the viewer to fill up the gaps, co-creating a three dimensional image.
