seeds of thought

listening to myself

Margaret Macdonald, painter and glass artist. one of the most influential figures in modern aesthetics, she was a pioneer, being a part of the first group of women to be admitted in the Glasgow School of Arts.
She, along with her sister Frances, and her future husband, the celebrated architect Charles Rennie Mcintosh and Herbert Mcnair, formed a collaborative group (the four) with shared aesthetic vision.
She worked mainly on the interiors of Macintosh’s buildings, and was responsible for the water colour renderings of the aesthetic concepts.

The Glasgow style of art, a distinctive style showing blend of influences including the Celtic revival, the arts and crafts movement and the Japonisme, found favour in the modern art world and made a great impact on the definition of ‘Art Nouveau’ movement.

notes to myself

'notes to myself' is a series of notecards, that express feelings through words and graphics.

simple notes, written straight from the heart in moments of introspection, are the beginning point of each card. the words are parallelly expressed through a work of art that is in tune with the spirit of the note.

a little bit about the art/artist/style of art completes the picture.

we, at design jatra, believe that a note a day .... would bring joy and enrichment ... and would set off a train of thought in our minds. we mean to enjoy the journey ... and hope you do too!
