listening to myself

Margaret Macdonald, painter and glass artist. one of the most influential figures in modern aesthetics, she was a pioneer, being a part of the first group of women to be admitted in the Glasgow School of Arts.
She, along with her sister Frances, and her future husband, the celebrated architect Charles Rennie Mcintosh and Herbert Mcnair, formed a collaborative group (the four) with shared aesthetic vision.
She worked mainly on the interiors of Macintosh’s buildings, and was responsible for the water colour renderings of the aesthetic concepts.

The Glasgow style of art, a distinctive style showing blend of influences including the Celtic revival, the arts and crafts movement and the Japonisme, found favour in the modern art world and made a great impact on the definition of ‘Art Nouveau’ movement.
