Kumi
Yamashita is a Japanese artist and currently lives and works in New York. He experiments
with light and shadow in the most remarkable ways. He uses the single or
multiple objects and places them in such a way that they align with a single
light source to produce fabulous results. In his
own words, “The complete artwork is therefore comprised of both the material
(the solid objects) and the immaterial (the light or shadow)”. His choice
of material, placement of light and positioning of artwork in the context is awe-inspiring.
