creation

Thought behind the Thought
What is the starting point of creativity? Why does one create? And how? This is surely something that every creative person, who has experienced the agony and ecstasy of creation has gone through!
The process of creating is a complex series of events, or rather, bursts of activity in the creator's mind. A process that sometimes completely takes over the peaceful world and replaces it with a compulsive, chaotic, pulsating, complex world where emotions run high, and satisfaction runs low. A process that agitates, as well as stimulates.

About the art
The short film below takes one on a journey into the creative process, made by Mikey Please. The animator and director makes movies using mostly styrofoam. The familiar packing material  turns out to be a fabulous visual material, at once crisp and soft, an unusual, but exciting material to explore for animation.

Marilyn Myller, the 6 minute short takes a satirical view to artistry. The title character, Marilyn Myller, has great powers of creation; like Please, she crafts whole worlds out of glittery white foam. But to get anyone to notice her, Myller must turn a spontaneous moment in the studio into a neutered, replicable presentation. It's an arc any art student should recognize... that is if they can pay attention in the midst of all that magical styrofoam.

dreams will fade

All of us dream! But some of us live our dreams, and others just let them fade away! We keep postponing working on dreams, because we are  too busy with 'Reality"

El Vendedor de Humo

A dream salesman comes to town offering an extraordinary merchandise, to realize the dreams of its inhabitants, though, for a small fee. However, the locals do not have time to fantasize, being very busy with their chores. The vendor will have to unlock the potential to attract and win some cash, before all the dreams fade away and the people awaken.

an open mind

Where do great ideas come from? Do they come to people of superior intellect or regular people? Should ideas be keep secret or shared? Should they belong to one or many? Should great ideas solve big problems or little ones? Let us see how these ideas generate, flourish and emerge as path breaking technology. The necessary condition here is that one needs an open yet closed mind that can trap an idea and nurture it till it takes the form of a product that is utilizable.

race

Destiny is a short film directed by Fabien Weibel, Sandrine Wurster, Victor Debatisse and Manuel Alligné for their graduation. Destiny talks about how we are simply prisoners of time. It captures the relationship between time, death and reality. It talks about how one yearns to be free of time's iron clasp on our lives. Time has surely become a winner in our race to survival perhaps it is about time we turned the hands of the clock in our favour.
